Project Description

Coles Tin Shed, Vic

Combining Aesthetics With Energy Savings

A new full-line supermarket of 2,6500² and six speciality retail stores of approximately 4900² with associated loading docks, car parking, civil works and landscaping.

Coles, in conjunction with the developer, architects and the Department of Industry Tourism and Resources, developed a “Greening of Coles” initiative, the first in the retail supermarket sector, to improve the energy and environmental performance of Coles Stores.

The THERMOMASS Insulation System was chosen as it allowed the architect flexibility in achieving their desired aesthetic finish, while maximising the required eco-credentials of the build.
This supermarket was the first store to be built and incorporates 40 new energy and resource efficiency initiatives and represents a commitment by Coles to continuous energy improvement.
