THERMOMASS Insulation System

Composite Global Solutions (CGS) is the Australian supplier of the THERMOMASS Concrete Insulation System for precast, in-situ or tilt up concrete sandwich panels.
The THERMOMASS Concrete Insulation System complies with Section J of the BCA and is a fully integrated, highly energy-efficient, insulated concrete sandwich wall system. Extruded polystyrene insulation is sandwiched between two concrete layers held together by specially designed THERMOMASS connectors.
Unlike traditional methods of insulating concrete walls in Australia, the THERMOMASS system places the majority of the concrete on the inside of the structure’s thermal envelope. The thermal mass of this concrete helps to further dampen the structure’s internal diurnal temperature variations, making the THERMOMASS insulation system the most effective concrete insulation system available on the Australian market.

MAMMOTH Insulation System

CGS Insulation is the Australian supplier of the Mammoth Soffit Insulation System designed especially for soffit applications such as carparks, auditoriums, office and places of education.
Mammoth insulation panels are made from 100% lofted thermally bonded polyester fibres. The semi-rigid panels are designed to improve thermal and acoustic performance of soffit areas for residential and commercial buildings (carparks, lecture theatres, open-plan share spaces). Installing Mammoth Soffit panels will allow you to control both the acoustic and thermal performance of your building, enhancing the well-being, productivity and comfort of the occupants.
Mammoth insulation panels are made using a unique air-layed manufacturing process whereby the fibres are completely randomised rather than layered. This provides for differing structural properties and greater flexibility which helps achieve high thermal performance when the product is affixed to concrete.

Thermomass Insulated Concrete Sandwich Panel

Fibre Composite Connectors
Made from a resilient composite matrix, the THERMOMASS fibre composite connectors provide strength and durability to the THERMOMASS System.
The patented Thermomass Composite Fibre Connector
Commonly used plastic connectors and steel rods cause corrosion, spalling, cracking and thermal bridging in the concrete wall.
THERMOMASS connectors eliminated these problems as they are completely compatible with concrete.
The shear capacity of each connector is approximately 4kN and the tensile strength of the connector composite material is in excess of 827 Mpa, a single connector can carry up to 1100 kg of concrete.
Extruded Polystyrene Insulation
The insulation component of the THERMOMASS System uses an polystyrene extrusion process which produces a closed cell component that contains no gaps or voids. Because of this, the rigid foam board insulation resists weathering and water penetration, including water vapour transmission.
Extruded polystyrene has a high thermal resistance and high compressive strength, reducing the sagging and other performance-reducing wear experienced by other materials.

CGS Insulation is the Australian supplier of Mammoth Car Park Panel Insulation System designed especially for under soffit areas. The Mammoth Soffit Panel excels in both thermal and acoustic applications.
Mammoth insulation panels are made from 100% lofted thermally bonded polyester fibres. The panels are designed to improve thermal and acoustic performance of soffit areas for residential and commercial buildings (carparks, lecture theatres, open-plan share spaces), enhancing the well-being and comfort for occupants.
Mammoth insulation panels contour around the uneven textures common in concrete form work. In addition to improved aesthetics, this helps the insulation achieve a seamless fit that supports higher thermal performance across the system by preventing air movement between the insulation panel and the substrate.
Mammoth Soffit Panels are the only soffit insulation panel on the Australian market certified to ISO 9705 with a full burn-room test (ceiling and walls). Mammoth insulation panels comply with provisions of the Building Code of Australia (BCA): AS/NZS 4859.1 for thermal performance and AS ISO 9705 for for the material Group Number.

Historically, PIR insulation has been favoured over Polyester insulation for under soffit applications due to the ease with which it can be drilled to install services as Polyester insulation tends to snag on drill bits making access to the concrete face difficult – delaying subcontractors and costing developers money.
